STABILITY INITAL ACCESS

Once it has been decided that vehicle relocation is not necessary (or after vehicle relocation has been completed) vehicles involved in the incident should be stabilized in line with the nominated extrication plan. ‘In line’ means that steps taken to achieve stability should not impede progress later on in the incident. Stability is literally the foundation of every extrication and it is something we should routinely practice. Not just for vehicles on their wheels, but also more complex scenarios we may face.
