CROSS RAMMING

Cross Ramming

Cross ramming is sometime referred to as ‘reforming’; a process of using hydraulic rams to push the vehicle structure back to somewhere near its original shape to create space and/or free an entrapment e.g. following a substantial side impact. Without the ability to train vehicles that have suffered such damage, again we cannot refine our skills. In my experience I would say that cross ramming is the most under practiced evolution and technical rescuers are generally less proficient and far less confident in performing this technique. This is due to the lack of availability of vehicles with realistic damage which allows us to practice cross ramming. "Vehicle Extrication - THE NEXT GENERATION" provides a full description, data sheet and FULL LENGTH HD video link to this and many other popular processes and techniques.
